Girolamo Valenti (1892-1958), a labor organizer for the Amalgamated Clothing Workers in the east, was also editor of several Italian American publications. Valenti was born in Valguarnera, Sicily, and came to the United States in 1911. In addition to labor organizing activities, he edited the anti-fascist daily Il Nuovo Mundo (1925-1931), La Stampa Libera, La Parola del Popolo (New York), and Parola dei Socialisti. He also worked for the Italian American radio station WHAY (Connecticut). ...
